# Installation

Install the package for your language and set a workspace API token:

```bash
export STACKMACHINE_API_TOKEN=your_workspace_api_token_here
```

Get a workspace API token from the dashboard or follow [Agent authentication](/getting-started/agent-authentication) to sign in and choose a workspace.


```bash
npm install stackmachine
```

```bash
pip install stackmachine
```
